  • Clinical and Lab Support Instructor

    Position Summary:

    The Clinical and Lab Support Instructor is responsible for monitoring and managing student and clinical faculty health information (i.e., with Castle Branch, Inc.), and assuring compliance with the requirements of each facility. The Support Instructor also oversees and ensures the completion of student evaluations and clinical documentation. The position also provides support to the simulation and lab areas of instruction. The Support Instructor promotes and supports Maria鈥檚 positive student-focused culture of academic excellence and inclusivity. The Clinical and Lab Support Instructor reports to the Department Chair, Nursing/Director of Clinical Experiences, and collaborates with other educators and staff within the Department of Nursing.

    Major Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Maintains a list of approved adjunct clinical faculty and preceptors by clinical specialty.
    • Collaborates with the Clinical Coordinator to plan for and schedule student clinical and individual preceptor rotations for all nursing degree and certificate programs.
    • Attends required meetings within the department and college.
    • Attends professional meetings within the community.
    • Assists with orientations for students at the beginning of each experience.
    • Ensures orientation materials are completed by students each semester in compliance with contracted agencies, with the Clinical Coordinator.
    • Ensuring student and faculty compliance with all clinical agency, college, and health requirements.
    • Submits necessary data/forms for students to obtain electronic health record access (EHR) for each clinical site to the Clinical Coordinator.
    • Works with faculty to ensure their area of expertise is being applied effectively.
    • Prepares clinical clearance permission (attestation) letters for students.
    • Distributes via Brightspace to clinical faculty and preceptors the student and agency evaluation forms and clinical teaching tools.
    • Helps to maintain all files related to clinical assignments.
    • Schedules orientation sessions and meetings with and serves as a resource and support to clinical adjunct faculty.
    • Ensures clinical documentation is completed by students.
    • Supervises completion of clinical evaluations on a weekly basis.
    • Assists in managing student clinical placement issues.
    • Attends meetings on campus biannually with clinical adjunct faculty to provide updates related to the nursing program(s) and student clinical and precepted learning experiences.
    • Troubleshoots faculty and student issues with Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
    • Sets up the EHR tutor documentation courses for all students to ensure continuity among clinical groups.
    • Attends training sessions on simulation manakins.
    • Assists lab faculty with troubleshooting simulation issues.
    • Coordinates with lab faculty to complete lab and simulation set ups.

  • ELL Academic Success Coach

    Purpose of role:  Receiving specific direction from the Assoc. VP for Student Affairs, the position is accountable for providing direct and customized academic writing, reading, listening, and speaking assistance to the ELL student population enrolled at B次元.  Additionally, the position functions within an administrative capacity by helping with data tracking, drafting reports, scheduling, and other clerical duties.  Finally, the position is responsible for implementation of supplemental academic programming designed specifically to bolster student success for ELL students.

    Key Tasks and Activities:

             Assist and facilitate the academic success of B次元 students through one-on-one and group tutoring 鈥 specifically as it relates English Language development, comprehension, and usage.

             Assist in developing and implementing supplemental academic programming aimed at bolstering the student comprehension of classroom material related to reading comprehension and writing as well as preparation for examinations crucial to program advancement. 

             Consult and coordinate with faculty to provide targeting support to ELL learners identified as at-risk for non-completion.

             Conduct in-class presentations and participate in recruitment events, as assigned.

             Keep appropriate documentation and records consistent with Student Affairs and College procedures.

             Participate in the Department of Student Affairs by attending meetings, events, contributing to the development of initiatives, communication, and department-wide activities.

             Carry out other assigned duties to Student Affairs as required, and commensurate with the level of the position.

    Key Outputs/Deliverables:

             One-on-one and group tutoring.

             Client reports for tutoring sessions indicating positive experience and learning outcomes.

             Academic support workshops and related activities.

             End of the year area updates.

             Production of study materials as needed.

             Research projects as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications/Experience/Licenses:

             Bachelor鈥檚 degree in ESOL, Education or related field and/or one of the following certifications: TESOL, TOEFL, TEFL, TSEL, CELTA, DELTA, or TKT.

             At least two years鈥 experience with academic tutoring is required.

             Experience in working with diverse and/or underrepresented student populations.

    Preferred Qualifications/Experience/Licenses:

             3-5 years鈥 experience with academic tutoring.

  • Assistant Director of Financial Aid

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking an energetic and innovative Assistant Director of Financial Aid to work closely with prospective and current students, and their families, to help them understand federal, state, private and institutional financial aid and other funding sources that can help them achieve a B次元 education. In this process, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as well as private borrowing and scholarships requirements. The Assistant Director will be responsible for packaging and counseling students while maintaining a deep understanding of the regulations governing the accurate administration of Title IV funds.

    This is an in-person position with occasional nights and weekends required.

    Major Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Communicate with perspective and current students in person, through phone calls and via email promptly and professionally.
    • Explain various forms of financial assistance available to students and provide counseling regarding payment options.
    • Conduct financial needs analysis, perform verification, certify federal loan eligibility, review SAP status, and make judgment decisions regarding individual student eligibility.
    • Council and assist students with scholarship opportunities and manage scholarship applications.
    • Review and process Parent PLUS, Grad PLUS, and Alternative loans.
    • Follow up with students to ensure all required documentation is on file and maintain accurate record-keeping.
    • Process student aid through the College鈥檚 financial aid software (Jenzabar) and other financial aid systems.
    • Generate and process reports required for enrollment, awarding and reconciliation.
    • Serve as an information resource for all incoming and transfer students, as well as staff.
    • Inform students on loan repayment procedures.
    • Assist with monthly loan and grant reconciliation.
    • Assist with processing withdrawals 鈥 Generating withdrawal reports and updating student accounts accordingly while reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulations and develop and maintain policies and procedures.
    • Collaborate with the Business Office on a daily basis regarding aid distribution, determinations concerning payments, etc.
    • Remain up-to-date with financial aid regulations by attending webinars and other trainings.
    • Assist in the preparation of files for audits
    • Achieve SCO status and award VA benefits to VA population and submit billing for VR&E.
    • Work closely with the Advancement Office on Scholarship approvals and disbursements.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Provide awareness of Financial Aid services offered by presenting at student recruitment events, orientation programs and other large-scale campus events. Presentations may also be provided in the community or at high schools to assist in the College’s recruitment efforts. Smaller group presentations may be provided to special student populations.

    B次元 is currently seeking to expand its pool of adjunct faculty available to teach courses within the Arts & Sciences Department, including the Division of Allied Health. Adjunct faculty, reporting to the Chair of Arts & Sciences, deliver student-centered instruction in specific content areas in online and/or in-person modalities.
