B次元 Ranked in Top Ten: Great Small Colleges for RN-BSN Degree

ALBANY, NY鈥擝est Master of Science in Nursing just named 30 small colleges, around the country, to its 2015 鈥淕reat Small Colleges for an RN-BSN Degree鈥 list; B次元 is in the top ten.

Accredited public, private non-profit and 4-year schools, offering a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in nursing for those that have already earned their RN and with student populations less than 3,000, were reviewed by Best Master of Science in Nursing Degrees. The list was then narrowed to 30 schools with affordability and number of students admitted percentages as their top criterion. B次元 is ranked eighth and also noted for its 75% retention rate from first year to second year students.聽

B次元 President Dr. Lea A. Johnson, in announcing the 2015 Great Colleges recognition congratulated the nursing leadership, Elizabeth Heywood, PhD, RN,聽Nursing Chairperson and Ellen Argust, MS, RN, CNOR, RN Baccalaureate Completion Program Director,聽and the nursing faculty and staff for their dedication to student success. She stated, 鈥淚 am very proud of the Maria nursing program. We are advancing healthcare outcomes through innovative teaching and mentoring of the next generation of caring and competent nursing professionals. This recognition confirms that small private colleges, like Maria, play a special role in offering quality and affordable nursing education.鈥

Dr. John Kowal, Vice President for Academic Affairs, praised the Maria RN Baccalaureate Completion Program for it success in developing a Bachelor of Science program for working RNs. He stated, 鈥淏次元 is helping licensed nurses expand their knowledge through formal education and also assisting employers achieve professional competency and educational standards to meet the increased demand for patient care.鈥
