
Dorothy A. Connolly Annual Lecture, 2025
Kathleen Duffy, SSJ is Professor Emerita of Physics and Director of the Institute for Religion and Science at Chestnut Hill College. She is President of the American Teilhard Association, Associate Editor of Teilhard Studies, a biannual publication of the American Teilhard Association, and serves on the Board of Cosmos and Creation. Her current research interest concerns the religious essays of Jesuit paleontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and the relationship of his synthesis to modern developments in science. She has published Teilhard鈥檚 Mysticism: Seeing the Inner Face of Evolution (Orbis 2014), Teilhard鈥檚 Struggle: Embracing the Work of Evolution (Orbis 2019), an edited volume of essays about Teilhard鈥檚 life and work entitled Rediscovering Teilhard鈥檚 Fire (St. Joseph鈥檚 University 2010), and edited volume of essays celebrating the 100th anniversary of Teilhard鈥檚 Mass on the World, as well as numerous book chapters and articles about Teilhard. Kathleen also guides evening, weekend, and weeklong retreats on topics related to Teilhard鈥檚 life and work.

This endowed lecture is made possible by Kay A. Connolly in honor of her late sister, Dorothy A. Connolly. Connolly was a Trustee of the College for 27 years, serving from 1976 to 2003. She was granted the title Trustee Emeritus for her long-standing commitment. The annual lecture will honor Dorothy鈥檚 legacy which, rooted in the Mercy Charism, will benefit the B次元 Community for years to come.
